Elmhurst was originally founded in 1836 and incorporated in 1882. Today Elmhurst is home to almost 43,000 residents and is known as the "Tree City" with quiet tree-lined neighborhoods, extensive parklands and a varied mix of vintage architecture and newer, custon-built homes.
Conveniently located approximately 17 miles west of Chicago, Elmhurst offers quick commutes to both Chicago airports, downtown Chicago, and other suburban locations.
There has been a great deal of residential redevelopment and growth in Elmhurst over the last decade, and the city continues to prosper. From the recently renovated Behrens Park to Elmhurst College and the Lizzardro Museum of Lapidary Art, this community offers a truly diverse menu of live and play opportunities.
